FAQ

Steel pipes questions

What is the difference between seamless and ERW pipe?

Seamless pipe has no weld seam and is preferred for high-pressure and high-temperature service. ERW pipe is welded from plate and is a cost-effective option for many lower-pressure and utility services. Your design code and service decide which is acceptable.

What does pipe schedule mean?

Schedule describes wall thickness for a given pipe size. A higher schedule means a thicker wall and a higher pressure capacity. The same nominal size has the same outside diameter at every schedule; the bore changes.

Can you cut pipe to length?

Yes. We supply standard 6 m lengths or cut to the lengths you specify, with bevelled or threaded ends on request.

Do you supply matching fittings and flanges?

Yes. We can quote pipe, butt-weld fittings, flanges, gaskets and stud bolts in matching material and pressure class on one quotation.
